Age of Empires, the real time strategy (RTS) game from 1997, turns 25 years old on October 15. To celebrate the legendary RTS’ Silver Jubilee, Microsoft has announced a live anniversary broadcast on October 25th at 1pm ET / 10am PT.
The broadcast is to include interviews from Age of Empire team members, special announcements, and a few surprises. While Microsoft didn’t hint at what these surprises will be, they did announce a few upcoming releases that will launch on October 25th. Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition will be coming to the Steam and Microsoft Stores. The new version of the popular game will feature the base game along with all updates and the anniversary update that includes the Ottomans and the Malians, two new civilizations to the game, along with new maps, achievements, and mastery challenges.
The other announcement from Microsoft touched on the classic games from the series, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Both games will feature in-game challenges along with exclusive rewards.
To catch the surprises and learn more about the anniversary edition of Age of Empires, the announcement broadcast can be seen on Xbox’s Twitch channel, AgeofEmpires.com, and the official Age of Empires YouTube channel on October 25th at 1pm ET / 10am PT. The Anniversary editions of the games will be available on PC Game Pass in addition to the Steam and Microsoft stores on the same date.
