After a four year in-person absence, Blizzard’s marquee gaming convention returns to Anaheim. Taking place on November 3-4, Blizzard is aiming to make the 2023 BlizzCon feel more experiential and create an immersive experience for fans of Blizzard titles including World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo.
Tickets for BlizzCon’s return will reach an all-time high. General admission tickets are listed at $299 and include access to all the halls, early access to the BlizzCon store, exclusive BlizzCon in-game items, and an official BlizzCon backpack. If the general admission isn’t rich enough for your blood, the Portal Pass includes all the general admission perks plus access to an exclusive portal pass lounge (which includes private viewing areas, private concessions, gameplay experience, concierge support, Blizzard employee meet and greets, and more), separate lines for security and registration, and early access to the convention center, all for the low low price of $799. The virtual ticket will be brought back as well, but pricing and perks have not been announced as of yet.
The opening ceremony will take place in the BlizzCon Arena. Seating will be randomly selected for attendees due to limited seating. The highly anticipated cosplay competitions and awards will be back as well. For esports fans, the Overwatch World Cup makes its return in 2023 and will be the first in the Overwatch 2 era. The top eight teams will take the stage in a single elimination bracket finals.
As for what gamers can expect to see at BlizzCon is still a mystery. Rumors of an announcement of Blizzard’s new survival game (teased in 2022) in a brand new universe would definitely kick the return of BlizzCon off in the right direction. World of Warcraft fans are looking to hear about new patches to Dragonflight and some are even hinting at the announcement of the next expansion based on past timelines. If any of these rumors are true is still yet to be seen, but the hype for November 3-4 is already building!
