Have you ever had a wish you didn’t realize you had until it came true? That’s what Disney has done by announcing Disney Dreamlight Valley, a free-to-play life-sim adventure coming in 2023. Developed by Gameloft, Disney Dreamlight Valley will be available basically anywhere you want to play it, including on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC and Mac via Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and the App Store.
Players will get to customize their own character and dive into the village of Dreamlight Valley. There they will encounter a whole village of Disney and Pixar characters who are all suffering from amnesia. This was caused by something called the ‘Forgetting’, a name which is somehow both ominous and still feels very Disney. Players will build friendships with these characters while helping them recover their memories and dealing with strange plants called ‘Night Thorns’ that came with the ‘Forgetting’.
Along with what sounds like a very intriguing story, players will have plenty of other distractions. Players will be able to customize their own home, towns in different Disney locations, cook, fish, follow other stories, and participate in lots of minigames. It sounds like there will be a great deal of things to do to keep busy and there are nearly infinite possibilities for more content and characters to be added in.
If you can’t wait until 2023 to try it out, an early access release is planned for this Summer. You can get in on it by purchasing a Founder’s Pack or just by having Xbox Game Pass.
