Eyes up, Guardians! The new season of Destiny 2 has arrived. On Tuesday, “Season of the Haunted” officially kicked off, bringing with it new story content, new activities, new gear, and a whole lot of refreshes. The biggest refresh comes in the form of Solar 3.0! Since the launch of “Beyond Light”, Bungie has been slowly reworking the subclasses available to Guardians. This started with the addition of the Stasis subclass that featured more ways to customize your subclass and really fit it to your playstyle. For veterans of the Destiny franchise, it felt closer to the options available in the first Destiny. Players instantly loved this level of customization and were clamoring for all subclasses to change to this model. Bungie upgraded the Void subclass to 3.0 with the launch of “Witch Queen” and now we have Solar 3.0. Unfortunately, all of you lightning fans will have to wait until at least next season it seems for Arc 3.0.

Another big return, and I mean that literally, is the Leviathan. The now abandoned and corrupted planet-eating ship belonging to Calus is back in the galaxy and guardians are heading aboard to confront the other returning threat: the Nightmares. An enemy first introduced in the Scarlet Keep expansion, nightmares are a dark energy manifesting as regrets or enemies from characters’ pasts. Defeating and banishing them will be necessary to advance the story and will play a large role in the rotation of activities for this season.

Players can expect a new dungeon launching today, a reworked version of Iron Banner, new PvP content, new exotics, and a few surprises as always. Dive into “Season of the Haunted” today and protect humanity and the earth from those who wish to destroy it.
