In 2020, Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Apple regarding Apple’s App Store rules and regulations. This resulted in the popular battle royale game, Fortnite, being removed from the App Store. To this day, Fortnite is not available on the App Store, but a move from Microsoft and Xbox Cloud Gaming will see it circumnavigate the App Store ban.
Xbox Cloud Gaming service is Microsoft’s foray into the cloud gaming scene. Much like Fortnite, the cloud service is banned on the Apple App Store due to disagreements over App Store policies. But Microsoft has a workaround that allows users to access the service by using the Safari browser on their iPhones and iPads, thus allowing access to the popular battle royale title once again.
While the lawsuit between Fortnite maker Epic Games and Apple rages on, mobile Fortnite players are rejoicing as they will now be able to play again anytime and anywhere on their Apple mobile devices.
