BAFTA Game Awards ‘Best Game’ winner and Steam’s highest-rated game of 2022 Vampire Survivors is set to be the next video game in a growing list to get a television adaptation. Luca Galante, founder of game developer poncle, is partnering up with Story Kitchen to ensure a worthy adaptation of the popular gothic horror action game gets made. The project is currently searching for a writer, but is moving forward with the intent to be auctioned off to multiple TV networks and streaming services that carry animated shows.

The game itself is set in rural Italy in 2021 where an evil person by the name of Bisconte Draculo has transformed the world with his dark magic into one filled with famine and suffering. Members of the Belpaese family are tasked with ending his vile reign of terror by overcoming hordes of night creatures and surviving until dawn. While the mechanics of upgrading and combining items to take down nearly endless hordes of varying monsters and creatures of the night makes for a very fun and addicting game, it is yet to be shown if it’ll translate into an intriguing animated series.

After putting hundreds of hours into playing the game, the team at Story Kitchen is excited to team up with Galante and his studio to draw more of the story out of its coffin and put an intriguing series together. Story Kitchen is currently working on a number of game-to-television adaptations which include Tomb Raider and Splinter Cell at Netflix, as well as It Takes Two, Streets of Rage, and Toejam and Earl at Amazon.
