Hornets Venom GT defeated Blazer5 Gaming in three straight games to win the NBA2K League’s THE TURN tournament along with $117,000 of the $260,000 prize pool. The Hornets had an impressive run as the #3 seed, only dropping one game the entire tournament (first round vs. Knicks Gaming), before going on to sweep every other opponent they faced. Craig “Rigby” Burnett Jr. was named the MVP of THE TURN after his impressive Finals performance where he averaged 24.5 points per game.
The Hornets are currently second in the Eastern Conference with an 11-5 record behind the defending league champions, Wizards DG.
THE TURN tournament is the second of three tournaments that make up “The Banner Chain” in the NBA2K League. THE TURN takes place in the middle of the season and is the only time when archetype bans are used. The regular season resumes on July 21st with only 4 weeks left before THE TICKET Tournament, followed by the playoffs.
