A new Star Wars adventure is in development at Skydance New Media, home of award-winning writer and director Amy Hennig. Hennig is most known for her deep involvement in legendary franchises Uncharted & Jak and Daxter. She now looks to take her expertise into the rich universe that first inspired her down this creative path all the way back when she saw the first movie in 1977. While very little details have been given about this new game thus far, we now know that it is a “narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story” according to the official announcement on StarWars.com.

Hennig’s new project joins a strong slate of recently announced Star Wars games – three at Electronic Arts’ Respawn Entertainment, a Knights of the Old Republic Remake at Aspyr Media, an untitled open world project at Ubisoft Massive, a multiplayer battle arena game at Zynga, and the notorious Star Wars Eclipse project at Quantic Dream. We have a strong feeling that there are more still to be announced as well. Additionally, this game also marks the second significant project that Skydance New Media has announced in the past nine months with the first also being a narrative-driven game in partnership with Disney (and Marvel Entertainment).
