WE’RE BACK! Did you miss us?! Just like the LCS, we took last week off. Not like anything big happened in Week 7…unless…WAIT!!! CLG BEAT IMMORTALS! Immortals went 1-1 in Week 7 after CLG exploited their…backdoor! One of the most exciting games in the LCS in a while. Cloud 9 fans rejoice! Your 13-0 NALCS record still stands! TSM still has issues to identify as they beat Echo Fox but then lost bad…and I mean BAD to Team Liquid. The good news is that TSM traveled to IEM Katowice and put on an impressive showing. In other news, Renegades broke their streak as well! They won for a change! GG Boys! Not much has changed. Only 2 weeks left! It’s time to hold on to those precious playoff spots! Here are your LCS Power Rankings going into Week 8! (Check out the end of the article for a IEM Katowice recap!)

  1. Immortals (NA LCS) Record: 13-1
    • CLG exposed a weakness in the Immortals armor. With heavy map presence and controlling almost every aspect of the game, CLG proved that Immortals are human after all. Their impressive start was cut short of the Cloud 9 NA LCS record 13-0 start before a loss.

  2. Vitality (EU LCS) Record: 11-3
    • This team keeps impressing. Easily the best team in the EU at the moment. Look for VIT to make some noise as they take the momentum into the playoffs in a few weeks!

  3. H2K (EU LCS) Record: 11-3
    • Going into the off week, H2K fans (in reality, all LCS fans) were struck with the news that FORG1VEN was called into Greek Military service. Well, the good news is that his service was suspended and he is back with H2K! Great news for the fans. Even better news for FORG1VEN!

  4. Counter Logic Gaming (NA LCS) Record: 10-4
    • We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy! All hail the Immortals slayer! Bring your baskets of fruits and your finest wines! We are in the mist of true kings! CLG is on a hot streak and Immortals found out firsthand how hot CLG is! What a game! The split pushing and lane swapping! The map control! NA LCS teams: Take note! CLG has provided the blue print to slaying Goliath!

  5. G2 Esports (EU LCS) Record: 11-3
    • Late game issues still hurt G2. They can get by when playing the low tier teams. But any mid to high tier team will haunt G2’s late game for the foreseeable future.

  6. Cloud 9 (NA LCS) Record: 9-5
    • C9 had the unfortunate opportunity to face CLG after their amazing game against IMT. Needless to say, CLG tore C9 apart using the same tactics. But C9 absolutely Goomba-Stomped Team Dignitas!

  7. Unicorns of Love (EU LCS) Record: 9-5
    • Loulex did quite well in his first performance with UoL. They struggled a bit when they faced ROCCAT, but everything was back to normal when UoL faced Splyce.

  8. Fnatic (EU LCS) Record: 8-6
    • Another average week. Another middle of the pack ranking. FNC looks like their record of being in every EU LCS final might be coming to an end. FNC says this team is a Summer Split/Worlds team. I’m not buying it yet.

  9. Team SoloMid (NA LCS) Record: 8-6
    • Ok, I’m changing their name to Team TiltMe. Normally when the expression “two different teams showed up,” is used, it means they played two pretty opposite games. The difference between the TSM that played Echo Fox and the TSM that played Team Liquid was so different, it was almost unbelievable…until you realize this team has done this several times before this split.

  10. Liquid (NA LCS) Record: 7-7
    • TL absolutely crushed TSM in probably one of the ugliest one sided matches this split. Dardoch is easily the NA LCS Rookie of the year with his amazing play.

  11. Origen (EU LCS) Record: 7-7
    • Well, pending a complete collapse, OG should make it into the playoffs. The only problem is that this average OG team will be out very quickly if they do make it.

  12. NRG eSports (NA LCS) Record: 7-7
    • Good news is Altec is back. Bad news is they are still struggling against teams they should easily beat.

  13. Echo Fox (NA LCS) Record: 5-9
    • Echo Fox had their win streak snapped by TSM and it continued with a bad loss to IMT. It isn’t fair to be too critical of this team since they have only had their full roster for a few weeks.

  14. Team Impulse (NA LCS) Record: 5-9
    • TIP fell victim to a hot TL team. But even if TL wasn’t hot, they would still have lost. The downward spiral continues…

  15. Splyce (EU LCS) Record: 4-10
    • If I had it my way, teams 15-20 would all be ranked dead last. The differences between the bottom of the barrel isn’t too vast. While SPY’s playoff hopes aren’t totally dashed, the thought of SPY going 4-0 and OG going 0-4 seems pretty laughable.

  16. ROCCAT (EU LCS) Record: 3-11
    • ROCCAT is making the relegation race fun! Maybe they can be saved from relegation!

  17. Elements (EU LCS) Record: 4-10
    • One more win will save EL from relegation. After a 3-1 start, they should be relegated.

  18. Giants Gaming (EU LCS) Record: 2-12
    • Even with a big roster change, GIA isn’t the worst LCS team. Giants fans (…if you exist), it’s time to start praying! Relegation is coming.

  19. Renegades (NA LCS) Record: 2-12
    • You thought PvP was hard? Apparently PvE is hard too! The Rift Herald got a double kill on REN…oh and just before that… (see below)

  20. Team Dignitas (NA LCS) Record: 4-10
    • …the first Bottom Lane turret got a double kill on DIG…on a 3 vs 0 push! S…M…D…M!

IEM Katowice Recap – The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly!

The Good

Fnatic turned in marvelous performances behind Rekkles and his amazing play on Jhin. FNC made it to the finals against SKT1, beating top Chinese teams Qiao Gu and Royal Never Give Up on the way. We finally got the match up we wanted back in Worlds…but with the wrong FNC team. FNC was blanked 0-3.

Team SoloMid bounced back from a rough opening and made IEM worth their time beating OG 2-1. Their demise came on the last day when they lost to the IEM Champs, SKT1, in the Semis.

The Bad

CLG was coming off of one of the hottest weeks in the LCS. They had high hopes coming into IEM. Unfortunately, they failed to perform. They lost against SKT1 and were dominated by FNC.

The Ugly

OG shouldn’t have come. H2K, G2, VIT all would have showcased EU better. A loss to RNG and the Bo3 kicking they got against TSM was enough for this very average team.
