Fold yourself into a beautifully crafted adventure in Dreamteck’s Lifeslide. Originally released on iOS devices via Apple Arcade in September 2019, this colorful paper plane adventure is now making its way to Steam later this year with an announced release date of August 6th, 2021.
Upon its original 2019 release, the game consisted of a singular Story mode featuring 16 levels and since then has expanded to 28 procedurally generated stages and the addition of new game modes. Alongside the vibrantly colorful story mode, the PC release will also include a relaxing Zen mode, weekly challenges with leaderboard integration, 6+ paper planes to choose from, and an impressive musical score that combines elements of electronic, rock, and orchestra instrumentals. Additionally, the Bulgaria-based team plans to continue to add to the game post-launch with new features and game modes already in the works.
Lifeslide presents the player with simple, yet challenging mechanics as they progress through the story and unlock access to new elements of gameplay from power-ups that give speed boosts, heightened jumps, passageway unlocks, and more. While the constantly changing, procedurally generated elements of the stages allow the game to offer significant levels of replayability to its players; I was still left wanting more levels and modes. The true gem of this game; however, is its impressive environments coupled with a soothing, yet exhilarating musical score to create a lively experience.
Similar to the stages of life, Lifeslide starts the player off in simple environments from flat, rolling plains to calm river beds. As the game progresses and the player becomes more familiar with the controls, the complexity of the stages grows as well, from dense forests to rock-filled canyons. The vibrant colors of the polygon-crafted biomes allow the game to achieve an unrivaled level of origami-esque beauty.
If you are looking for a soft challenge that embraces growth and is rooted in relaxation then Lifeslide could definitely be the game for you.
