This past week at Meta Connect, gamers and fans were treated to new details about the Quest 3 headset. This included specs and a release date, but also brought news that Game Pass is officially coming to the platform as well. While it was already known that plans existed to bring it eventually, there was no real date or time frame given until now.

The Meta Quest 3 is launching October 10 with a 128GB option for $499.99 and a 512GB option for $649.99. It will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, giving it twice the power of the Quest 2. It comes in as an incredibly solid VR and mixed reality option, though it only has around 2 hours of battery life. It’s not the most powerful headset out there but its ease of access, 3D audio, and catalog of games makes it an exciting new entry into VR.

Most importantly, gamers will be able to use Xbox Game Pass on the Quest 3. Forget needing a big screen TV or a nice monitor to game on, just put on your headset and away you go. Those watching the conference were treated to a video of what it looks like on the headset. (You can see it yourself here.) Play hundreds of games, including Starfield, in what might be the coolest and most immersive way possible. With visuals right in your face and the 3D audio from the headset, diving into any of the games on Game Pass is going to feel fun and exciting this way.

Game Pass is slowly coming out on more and more platforms. With cloud play improving constantly, there’s no end to the possibilities of where or how gamers will be able to play the games they love. This is just the latest in an expanding catalog. Does the addition of Game Pass on the Quest 3 make it a must buy for you? Or is it the other way around? Let us know what you think!
