This past week the gaming segment of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced their nominations for the 20th BAFTA Game Awards, one of the most highly regarded gaming awards shows in the industry. A total of 40 games across 17 categories were nominated, with BAFTA “highlighting an outstanding level of creative excellence from a broad range of UK and international development teams.”

Leading the pack (to no one’s surprise) was Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3, a winner of multiple Game of the Year awards from other showcases already, with 10 nominations. Following close behind in second was Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with 9 nominations, while Remedy’s Alan Wake 2 took up the mantle of 3rd with 8 nominations. Additionally, 11 out of the 12 nominees in the performance categories received their first BAFTA nomination, pretty impressive for a group that contains stars like Neil Newbon, Cameron Monaghan, Yuri Lowenthal, and other incredible talents. Find the full list of nominations here.

Voting is now open for the Player’s Choice Award, the only award voted for by the public, and includes the following nominees: Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite, Lethal Company, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Interested in voting? Click here.
