Game streaming is getting an upgrade to the latest and greatest hardware and that means you don’t have to fork out $1,199 to game on an RTX 4080. That’s good news for everyone who knows what that means and even for those who don’t. NVIDIA just announced a new tier for their GeForce Now game streaming service: GeForce Now Ultimate. This new plan replaces the RTX 3080 as the GPU running the services with the super powerful new RTX 4080. This upgrade includes a ton of new features and is far from just a simple incremental increase.
For $20 a month or $100 every 6 months, gamers can sign up for this new, powerful tier. This tier streams games at a crazy 240 frames per second. Throw on NVIDIA Reflex and these speeds are going to feel like you are simply playing on your local PC. Does your monitor have G-SYNC? GeForce Now will vary the framerate in real time for the smoothest and most optimal performance. Existing games and streams are getting a boost too, you can play them in 4K and at 120 frames per second as well. Fans of ultrawide streaming get a gift too with the service adding support for ultrawide resolutions up to 3840×1600.
GeForce Now boasts over 1,500 games, which includes everything from popular free titles as well as some of the most popular hits from the biggest studios. The Ultimate tier gives gamers access to all of those games with the best graphics and best performance. It even includes the latest RTX technology, such as DLSS 3 and full ray tracing. Those with the RTX 3080 tier have already been upgraded and the option to sign up for this new Ultimate tier will start rolling out in the US and Europe in the coming weeks. Fun fact: If you’re an AT&T internet customer, you can get 6 months of GeForce Now Ultimate for free. If that’s you, you’ve got nothing to lose to try out this awesome new tier of an already fantastic service.
