PlayStation and Sony Interactive Entertainment have revealed the first five games that received support in SIE’s India Hero Project. Meteora: The Race Against Space Time (Big Boot Games), Fishbowl (imissmyfriends), Mukti (Underdogs Studio), Requital: Gates of Blood (Holy Cow Productions), and Suri: The Seventh Note (Tathvamasi) are the first wave of games.
In 2023, Sony announced their next incubator project called “The India Hero Project.” The goal of the project is to focus on identifying and supporting emerging talent in India. SIE received an overwhelming response from developers in India with Sony pointing out the rich Indian culture, innovation, and storytelling in all the submissions. After a long process, SIE narrowed the inaugural class to five games that celebrate India.
Head of GTPR Business Development & Strategic Initiative at SIE Hector Fernanders stated, “Today, we’re excited to unveil the inaugural cohort of the India Hero Project at our landmark first developer conference in India – Develop India. Join us in celebrating their achievements and the exciting future they represent for gaming. This marks not just a milestone for these talented developers, but a leap forward in our journey to bring extraordinary gaming experiences from India to the world.”
All five titles will be available on PS5 and PC in the near future.
