This week Sony delivered thirty minutes of pure bliss for PlayStation fans and PC fans alike with a collection of first and third party titles presented in their recent State of Play. With just over fifteen games showcased, there was a bit of something for everyone.

Kicking off the action-packed show, Capcom announced a Resident Evil 4 remake with a short cinematic trailer and a release date of March 23, 2023. Following that up, PC players got a boon with the previous PlayStation console exclusive, Spider-Man: Remastered swinging its way onto Windows PCs this August. Next on the horizon was a new look at Aloy in Guerilla’s newly announced “New Game+” mode for Horizon Forbidden West, bringing with it enhanced visuals, new transmog options, increased difficulties and more. Aloy wasn’t done yet though, as she also stole the show as the main heroine in Horizon Call of the Mountain, an upcoming launch title for Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR2 headset.

The PSVR2 train continued to chug along with additional announcements of content in the works for Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Chapter 2, No Man’s Sky, and more. Square Enix took the stage next with a nearly 3-minute long trailer showcasing dragons and fighting in the next mainline Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy 16. Fighting its way onto the scene next was Street Fighter 6, showing off another couple minutes of the popular fighter’s latest installment.

The showcase went on to show a few more games from beloved indie game Tunic to Season: A Letter to the Future before wrapping things up with BlueTwelve Studio’s cyberpunk-esque cat game, Stray. And in what felt like the purrfect way to end the showcase, Sony announced that Stray would be coming to PlayStation Plus members in mid-July at no additional cost.
