In what was a surprise and a treat, Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts 4 as well as a new Kingdom Hearts mobile game at the ‘Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary’ celebration. The announcement did not disappoint as fans of the series were treated not only to a confirmation that Kingdom Hearts 4 is in development, but early gameplay footage was shown as well! Fans of the series have been asking “Where is Sora?” since the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 and now there is an answer: the Quadratum. This world appears massive and much more realistic than anything previously seen in the series. While there’s no release date set for the “Lost Master Arc” to begin, it’s encouraging to see the game in active development after the years of silence between Kingdom Hearts 2 & 3.

Square Enix wasn’t finished there though. Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, a new mobile game that continues the series tradition of weird naming conventions, was announced! The game is a 3D Action RPG title that appears to be set in Scala ad Caelum, a city important to the events of Kingdom Hearts 3. Keep an eye on the Kingdom Hearts social accounts as a limited beta will be coming later this year.

Also announced was the final chapter of the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Dark Road coming in August 2022 as a free update to the app.
