Star Wars fans won’t have to mingle with the galactic criminal underground (*yet) to find out the premise of the new open world Star Wars game. With almost 1 million views as of this publication, the story trailer released on April 9th gave a lot of insight into the world players are about to step into.
Outlaws marks the first-ever open world Star Wars game and with Ubisoft behind the game, many fans are excited as the studio has created iconic games such as The Division and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Outlaws continues the recent Star Wars trend in moving away from Jedi vs. Sith and lightsaber battles, as it will focus more on the scoundrels of the underworld. Kay Vess is the main protagonist of the game. Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Vess is looking to start a new life but ends up getting involved in one of the greatest heists ever to take place in the Outer Rim.
Players will get to visit familiar planets like Tatooine while at the same time being introduced to new planets previously unknown to Star Wars fans.
Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on August 30, 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X.
