Cuphead’s first, latest, and final downloadable content, titled “The Delicious Last Course”, is now available for purchase ($7.99) on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and GOG). The DLC offers another plentiful helping of cup-filled combat, featuring six new bosses, a handful of mini-bosses, a new playable character, additional weapons, charms, and more.
Ms. Chalice joins Cuphead and Mugman to take the last remaining spot in the cupboard of playable characters. She is selected as an equipable charm and comes equipped with an arsenal of abilities: a double jump, a dodge that includes invincibility while rolling, a dashing parry, and four HP hearts instead of the standard three. While this sounds great upfront, Ms. Chalice isn’t without flaws. To select her you lose your charm slot, her single jump doesn’t go as high as Cuphead’s standard jump, and her dash parry is much harder to hit on objects that are not coming straight for her. She’s a solid addition to the roster, but one that still offers quite a challenge to master.
It’s safe to say that fans of the original game will have their glasses more than half-full with a solid amount of new hand-crafted content to dive into as they collect ingredients to help Chef Saltbaker create a Wondertart for Ms. Chalice in this all-new 2D adventure.
