Hailing from the southern city-state of Nazumah in the region of Shurima, a new, tanky top laner is making his way to Summoner’s Rift. K’Sante, the Pride of Nazumah, is the latest champion to join League of Legends’ star-studded roster. K’Sante falls into League’s “Warden” classification as a champion meant to primarily support and protect; however his ultimate ability flips things on end allowing him to show off more offensive flair. Let’s dive into his abilities:
Dauntless Instinct (Passive): K’Sante’s damaging abilities mark enemies for a short duration. Attacking a marked enemy deals bonus max health physical damage on top of the normal damage dealt. In All Out mode, the max health bonus damage is changed from physical to true damage. Ouch!
Ntofo Strikes (Q): K’Sante deals physical damage in a small area around him, slamming down his weapon, and briefly slowing the targets he hits. If two enemies are struck, K’Sante is able to fire off a shockwave that pulls enemies towards him. In All Out mode, this ability’s cooldown is reduced, but it no longer slows the targets it hits.
Path Maker (W): Charging up, K’Sante raises his weapons defensively for a short duration, reducing incoming damage, and becoming unstoppable. Upon release, K’Santa charges forward, dealing percent-based max health physical damage, knocking back, and stunning enemies he passes through. In All Out mode, this abilities cooldown is refreshed, the damage reduction is increased, the charge and dash speed are doubled, and bonus physical damage is dealt.
Footwork (E): Dashing K’Sante gains a shield for a short duration. If dashing to an ally, the distance of the dash is significantly increased and the ally also becomes shielded. In All Out mode, this ability’s dash speed and range are increased and it can now go over walls.
All Out (R): K’Sante shatters his ntofos, dealing physical damage and knocking back an enemy champion. If the enemy hits a wall, they’ll take a greater amount of physical damage, be knocked over the wall, and become stunned for a brief moment. K’Sante then dashes after the enemy, entering his All Out mode for an extended duration. In All Out mode, K’Sante loses a percentage of his max health, bonus armor, and bonus magic resistance in exchange for gaining attack damage, omnivamp, and empowering his other abilities.
K’Sante is set to join the active roster of champions in early November with the release of Patch 12.21. In the meantime, check out his abilities in action here.
