2023 was an incredible year for gamers, especially those in the Xbox ecosystem. 2024 is lining up to be another great year as Microsoft’s Xbox Developer_Direct came out of the gates with heavy hitters. From MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to a surprise appearance from Square Enix’s Visions of Mana, the event did not disappoint.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is confirmed to be released in 2024. The story takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. The biggest change from other Indiana Jones games is the Great Circle will feature gameplay mostly in first person.
Fans of the Civilization series and Age of Empires will be happy with the update on Ara: History Untold from Oxide Games, as it was announced to be coming Fall 2024. Gamers will not have to wait too long to play the graphically intense Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II from Ninja Theory as it was confirmed with a May 21st date. Rounding out the known announcements, Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed was announced to be released in Fall 2024.
Square Enix’s Visions of Mana made a surprise appearance with in-depth updates on the highly anticipated title. With a release window of Summer 2024, fans of the long running action-RPG series will take the role of Val who accompanies his friend on a trip to the Tree of Mana. The Xbox and PC versions of Visions of Mana will be released at the same time as its PlayStation release this summer.
